Diffusion coefficients in multiphase Ni80Cr20-Ti system

In this paper, the reactive diffusion in Ni80C20r?Ti ternary system is discussed at 1173K. The couple was prepared and annealed for 100 h. two intermetallic phases two-phase zones occurred, namely: Ti2Ni, TiNi, TiNi+Cr, TiNi3+Cr. Based on experimental results (molar fractions, thicknesses of phases), intrinsic coefficients all components each phase were numerically approximated. Wagner method used pure phases. approximation based generalized Darken methods. presented methods allowed determination effective phase.

Diffusion coefficients for proteins in water are predicted. The numerical method developed is general enough to be applied to a wide range of protein surface shapes, from rodlike to globular. Results are presented for lysozyme and tobacco mosaic virus, and they are compared with actual data and with predictions made by less general methods.
